About Pow - Wow Restaurant

In the fall of 1995, Greg Pearson and Richard Hall started to renovate the old Levitts China Building in Downtown St. Catharines, Ontario. Ten months later, Pow Wow was born. Starting off with just the front section of the building, the feel in Pow Wow was unlike any other place in the area. An urban pub was alive and vibrant. Cooking took place right behind the bar, serving up our famous Chicken Apple Sandwich, Mediterranean Pita Salad and Chicken Club Pizza.

In the winter of 1997, we began extensive renovations in the back room and an open concept kitchen was constructed. Our fare was transformed into a global fusion style of menu, but still featuring the same items that originally put Pow Wow on the map.

Area diners in the know have discovered what a great restaurant Pow Wow is. We are located in the heart of downtown St. Catharines. Our quality decor matches fabulous food served for lunch and dinner. Approaching our 10th year, Pow Wow is proud to feature items such as Beef Tenderloin, Rack of Lamb, Fresh Seafood, Pastas and Vegetarian fare. With a great selection of Niagara wines and micro brews on tap, there really is something here for everyone.

Validated parking is available with your reservation on Friday and Saturday nights, located just off James street on the North side of Summer Street. Purchase your ticket at the machine and place it in the dash of your car. You can enter into the restaurant via our SECRET ENTRANCE off Summer Street. (shhhhh.) The cost of parking is $4.00 flat rate from 6pm to 6am. Pow Wow will take $4.00 off your dinner bill as a courtesy.

In the summer of 2005, we initiated the "Bring Your Own Wine Program" from the AGCO. Pow Wow offers diners "FREE CORKAGE" from Monday to Thursday and charges a $12 corkage on weekends. We feel this is an excellent opportunity for diners to enjoy the great food at Pow Wow and get a break on wine. It is also a fantastic savings for staff functions, Christmas parties and corporate events.

In the fall of 2006, founding partner Richard Hall decided to retire from the restaurant business!! Over most of the summer Greg & Rich discussed the possibility of selling Pow Wow and both moving on to different careers. After careful consideration Greg decided to stay with the restaurant and continue to run it in the fashion that has made it successful for 10 years. Although Rich will be missed a great deal, Greg has the luxury of a fantastic staff to depend on and help with the day to day running of the business. Greg and the entire staff wish Rich the very best in his new Voice Acting career.
